Nuance Pet Photos Blog | Charleston SC Pet Photography bio picture

Hi, and welcome to my blog!

That's me (Els) on the right there. Granted, it's an image I took of my reflection in a window when I was 18. Let's just say that was quite some time ago, without getting into specifics ;)

I've been in love with photography over 25 years, but my day job has been as a freelance graphic designer, with my main focus being catalog, magazine, and book design and layout. I started Nuance Pet Photos as an endeavor to combine my background in graphic design with my love of animals and my passion for photography. So, here we are!

Oh, and the yellow lab you see everywhere on this blog? That's Cooper, my yellow lab, who was born in Southern California in October 2004. He's a true beach boy, who loves to play in the ocean, catch frisbees on the run, and chase squirrels out of his backyard. We moved from San Diego, CA, to Charleston, SC, in June of 2007, and despite the humidity and mosquitos, we love it here!

Thanks for visiting the blog. Cheers!

The flying labrador

Bully Sticks

Yesterday, Cooper got his first taste of a “Bully Stick.” How have we not known about these things for so long?!? Thanks to twitter, i came across @bestbullysticks, who sent Cooper a fine Bully Stick sample. Needless to say, after seeing Cooper react to, and devour,  his first Bully Stick, we will be placing our...

Good intentions…

While this blog is never far from my mind, i guess the rituals of daily life have taken over and i see today marks one month since i’ve made a blog post, despite my best intentions to keep this blog updated regularly. Not to make excuses, but, May has had its share of distractions, celebrations,...

Sullivan’s Island

Our carpe diem was in full swing this morning, and we made it to the beach on Sullivan’s Island around 8:30 a.m.—though we suddenly realized on the way there that we had brought everything…except tennis balls! A quick stop at the Piggly Wiggly—gotta love those down-south grocery store names—and we were on our way again.
Cooper...
